LCCC Esports Spring Season Opener

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — The Laramie County Community College Golden Eagles Esports teams kicked off a busy week of competition with strong performances across multiple titles, highlighted by a Fortnite season-opening win and Marvel Rivals' first victory of the year.

In Fortnite action, NB Team 1Victoria Kershaw and Adam Kirwin—opened their season with a hard-fought 2–1 victory over Barton Community College. The duo edged out their opponents with an overall elimination advantage of 28–24, setting the tone early in the season.

NB Team 2, featuring Austin Emmert and Mackenzie Leibouvitz, faced a tough challenge against Hawkeye Community College. Despite two closely contested matches, the Golden Eagles fell 0–2, with an overall elimination score of 12–18.

The Marvel Rivals squad delivered a standout result, securing their first win of the season with a 3–1 victory over Carl Albert State College. AJ Price and Gavin Yanguez anchored the team with consistent and timely heals, while Malachi Larson showcased exceptional versatility—flexing into multiple roles and switching to DPS when it mattered most to close out the match.

The Golden Eagles are right back in action next Monday at 5 p.m., with a full slate of matchups:

  • Fortnite NB Team 2 vs. the reigning NJCAAE National Champions, Eastern Wyoming College

  • Fortnite NB Team 1 vs. Ranger College

  • Marvel Rivals vs. Hutchinson Community College
