STERLING, Colo. – The Laramie County Community College men's soccer team picked up a big 2-1 road win against Northeastern Junior College on Saturday.
A tight battle the entire way with both teams having looks at goal in the first half. The Golden Eagles outshot the Plainsmen 7-4 in the half but both teams put two shots on goal.
NJC would respond with a goal in the 60th minute on a penalty kick from Carlos Morales to level the score.
Freshman Omar Castruita (Boulder, Colorado) got the Golden Eagles back ahead in the 70th minute on a free kick. LCCC would fight off a late push from the Plainsmen and hold on for the 2-1 win.
Declan Domyan (Johannesburg, South Africa) made two saves and had to be replaced by Tanner Reidel (Laramie, Wyoming) after picking up a yellow card. Reidel finished the game and recorded three saves.
