The Laramie County Community College men's soccer team capped off their road swing with a statement win, rallying from behind to defeat Lamar Community College 4–2 on Saturday afternoon. A brace from Darrien Gates II, along with goals from Liam Dols and David Bojorquez, powered the Golden Eagles to victory.
First Half: Trading Blows
LCCC wasted no time striking first, as Darrien Gates II pounced on a rebound from Kyonosuke Chikamoto's effort in the 3rd minute to put the Golden Eagles up 1–0.
Lamar, however, responded with two moments of brilliance. Oliver Lopez leveled the score in the 22nd minute on a driven volley from 18 yards, before Carlos De Luna gave Lamar the lead in the 41st minute with a stunning strike from 25 yards out. The Golden Eagles entered halftime trailing 2–1.
Second Half: Golden Eagles Take Control
After regrouping at the break, LCCC came out with purpose. In the 50th minute, David Bojorquez served a perfect cross that found Liam Dols, who rose above his marker and headed home the equalizer.
Just four minutes later, Gates struck again—this time rifling a shot from 18 yards into the net to give the Golden Eagles the lead. The scoring was capped off in the 84th minute when Bojorquez converted a penalty kick to seal the 4–2 result.
