Golden Eagles Struggle on the Road, Fall to #12 NMJC 81–54

Hobbs, N.M. —
The Laramie County Community College women's basketball team couldn't overcome a hot-shooting New Mexico Junior College squad Friday afternoon, dropping an 81–54 decision in Hobbs.

The Golden Eagles (5–3) kept things close early, trailing just 16–13 after the first quarter. But the second frame proved decisive as NMJC erupted for 27 points, building a 43–28 halftime lead. LCCC never recovered, as the Thunderbirds continued to control the pace and outscored the visitors in every quarter.

Sophomore forward Hannah Briskey was a bright spot for LCCC, posting a double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds on 8-of-14 shooting. Helena Salazar Meinesz added 8 points and 7 boards, while Jessica Taylor chipped in 7 points and 2 assists. Despite their efforts, the Golden Eagles shot just 28.4% from the field and 16% from beyond the arc.

NMJC (6–1) showcased its depth, with Madison Wilson leading the way at 17 points and 4 rebounds. Jada Graves scored 13, and Indigo Bell provided a spark off the bench, hitting four three-pointers en route to 12 points. The Thunderbirds shot 46.4% overall and 33.3% from three, while their bench contributed a staggering 48 points.
