LCCC Battles Hard in 64–74 Loss to McCook Community College

Laramie County Community College's women's basketball team put up a strong fight on their home court but fell short against McCook Community College, 74–64, in a competitive matchup at the LCCC Gymnasium.

The Golden Eagles showed resilience throughout the game, keeping the score close in the first three quarters. After trailing 18–15 in the opening period, LCCC narrowed the gap to just two points at halftime (31–31 combined second-quarter scoring). Despite their efforts, McCook surged in the fourth quarter with 28 points, sealing the victory.

Hannah Briskey led the Golden Eagles with an impressive 20 points, shooting 5-of-9 from the field and a near-perfect 10-of-11 from the free-throw line. She also grabbed 9 rebounds, showcasing her dominance inside. Selenay Tanik contributed 11 points and pulled down a team-high 10 rebounds, adding grit on both ends of the floor. Julia Sanz Bonet and Nuria Florensa chipped in 7 points each, while Jessica Taylor added 5 points and 3 assists.

As a team, LCCC shot 32.1% from the field and 73.5% from the free-throw line, converting 25 of 34 attempts. Their defensive effort was evident with 36 total rebounds and 10 steals, but turnovers (18) proved costly against McCook's efficient offense.
