The Laramie County Community College women's basketball team delivered a statement win on Saturday, erasing a 22-point halftime deficit to defeat Otero College 83-79 in a thrilling Region IX matchup.
LCCC trailed 51-29 at the break, but the Golden Eagles came out firing in the second half, fueled by relentless defense and clutch shooting. A 32-point third quarter swung the momentum, and LCCC sealed the comeback with a strong finish in the fourth.
Hannah Briskey was unstoppable at the stripe, hitting 10-of-11 free throws en route to 18 points and 8 rebounds. Sabela Carro dominated inside with 16 points and 12 rebounds, while Julia Sanz Bonet added 16 points, including four triples. Alicia Trujillo and Nuria Florensa combined for six three-pointers and 23 points, sparking the perimeter attack.
The Golden Eagles shot 40% from deep (12-of-30) and controlled the boards with 48 rebounds, including 18 offensive rebounds that proved critical in the comeback.
