In a tightly contested NJCAA Top-15 clash, #13 Laramie County Community College and #3 Salt Lake Bruins played to a 1-1 draw at LCCC's home pitch, showcasing defensive grit and emerging talent on both sides.

Freshman defender Victoria Espinoza opened the scoring early for the Golden Eagles in the 12th minute. Capitalizing on an intercepted pass, Espinoza found space 25 yards out and buried a shot past Salt Lake goalkeeper Elle Rafajko, marking her first collegiate goal.

LCCC held the lead deep into the second half, backed by a strong performance from the defense and goalkeeper Jenna Feldmann, who made four saves—three in the first half and one in the second—to keep the Bruins at bay.

Salt Lake eventually broke through in the 73rd minute when Avery Thal converted a cross into the box from Nao Yamada, leveling the match with a composed finish.

Both teams had their chances throughout the match. LCCC registered 11 shots, with 5 on target, led by freshmen forward Emily Sheather, who tallied 3 shots. Salt Lake edged the shot count with 13 attempts, but only 4 were on goal, all handled by Feldmann except for Thal's equalizer.

Rafajko stood tall for the Bruins, making 5 saves—2 in the first half and 3 in the second—to preserve the draw.

Despite the result, LCCC showed they can compete with the nation's top programs, and Espinoza's early goal highlighted the depth and promise of their freshman class.
