In a tightly contested matchup, Laramie County Community College fell just short against Yavapai College, with the final score ending 2-1 in favor of the Roughriders.

LCCC came out firing early, capitalizing in the 3rd minute with a well-executed goal. Addie Gonzales intercepted a pass and drove toward the top of the 18-yard box, unleashing a shot that ricocheted off the near post. Emily Sheather was perfectly positioned to collect the rebound and calmly slotted it home, giving the Golden Eagles an early lead.

Yavapai responded in the second half with a set-piece equalizer. In the 47th minute, Liberty Baker delivered a long-range free kick from 40 yards out that found Jill Young, who got in behind the LCCC defense to head the ball into the net. The Roughriders took the lead in the 67th minute when Lilliana Baker assisted Nataly Arangure, who struck from 20 yards out to beat the keeper and seal the win.

Despite the loss, LCCC showed attacking intent throughout the match. The Golden Eagles registered 11 shots in the first half, with 6 on target, and added 14 more in the second half, though only 4 were on goal. Yavapai was more clinical, with 6 shots on goal and 2 converted.
