The postseason is here, and the Laramie County Community College (LCCC) Women's Soccer Team is ready to make its mark. After a dominant regular season, the Golden Eagles enter the Region IX Tournament as the #1 seed and will host Central Wyoming College in the semifinal round this Saturday, October 25, 2025.
LCCC earned a first-round bye after finishing region play with an impressive 8-1-1 record. Their only loss came at the hands of Northwest College, a team that was recently eliminated in the quarterfinals by none other than Central Wyoming — setting the stage for a high-stakes rematch on LCCC's home turf.
Head Coach Lugo Arenas and the Golden Eagles have shown consistency, grit, and tactical excellence throughout the season. Their balanced attack and disciplined defense have made them a formidable force in Region IX, and they'll look to carry that momentum into Saturday's clash.
"We've worked all season for this moment," said Arenas. "Now it's about staying focused, playing our game, and taking it one match at a time."
Central Wyoming, coming off a thrilling win over Northwest in overtime, will arrive in Cheyenne with confidence. But LCCC's home crowd, altitude advantage, and postseason experience could prove decisive as they aim to punch their ticket to the Region IX Championship.
Kickoff is set for Saturday afternoon at 1pm MTN time on the LCCC campus. Fans are encouraged to come out in full force and support the Golden Eagles as they chase a Region IX title and a berth in the NJCAA National Tournament.
