CHEYENNE, WY - The LCCC Golden Eagles opened the 2021 season in the LCCC Volleyball Invitational by beating Trinidad State in straight sets on Friday afternoon at the RAC.

The Golden Eagles opened the match by getting out to a 6-0 lead in the first set and cruised to a 25-16 win. 

LCCC fell behind early in set two before the Golden Eagles came back to even the set at seven thanks to an Emma Bonney (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) ace. The Golden Eagles outscored the Trojans 18-12 for the remainder of the set, taking the set 25-19. 

After falling behind early once again in set three, the Golden Eagles came back to put together a 10-4 run, capped off by a Kyla Childers (Parker, Colo.) ace to give the Golden Eagles a 19-12 lead in the set before finishing off the Trojans and taking the match in straight sets.
