ROCK SPRINGS, WY - The Golden Eagles (10-9, 5-4) won a pair of matches over the Western Wyoming Mustangs (3-10, 0-6) 3-1 and 3-0 on Saturday afternoon.
The Golden Eagles fell behind early in the first match, losing the first set 25-22.
LCCC went on to rattle off three straight-set wins in the match, taking the three sets 25-22, 25-14, and 25-22
Rigan McInerney (Gillette, Wyo.) collected 15 kills and three blocks in the match while Kalme Moncavo (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) had 18 of her 30 total kills in the first match.
Kyla Childers (Parker, Colo.) added five kills in the match.
The Golden Eagles knocked off the Mustangs in straight sets in the second match of the day, winning 3-0.
LCCC took the first set 25-22 before taking the second set 25-13 and finishing off the Mustangs with a 25-18 win.
McInerney added 11 kills and an ace while Moncavo tallied 12 kills.
Childers recorded eight kills in the match.
LCCC returns home on Saturday, hosting Eastern Wyoming at 3:00 pm.
