CHEYENNE, WY - Rigan McInerney (Gillette, Wyo.) and Kalme Moncavo (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) each had 12 kills in the Golden Eagles (10-10, 5-5) 3-1 loss to Eastern Wyoming (14-11, 7-5) on Saturday afternoon.

The Lancers came out fast, jumping out to an early lead on their way to a 25-15 win in the first set. 

Shelby Veenstra (Twins Falls, Idaho) added to her assist total by tallying 32 assists in the match while also recording six digs in the loss.

The Golden Eagles came back to take the second set 25-21 to even the match up at one set apiece before the Lancers took the next two sets, both by the score of 25-17 to win the match 3-1. 

In addition to her 12 kills, McInerney had a double-double on the afternoon, finishing with 15 digs to lead the team. Moncavo also added four service aces to her 12 kills.

Emma Bonney (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) had 10 digs in the match.

The Golden Eagles will open Region IX Tournament play on March 31 in Casper.
