Laramie County Community College's Golden Eagles volleyball team fell in straight sets (0-3) to Central Wyoming College on Saturday during their annual Sophomore Day celebration. The loss brings LCCC's overall record to 16-11 and their conference record to 8-2.
Despite the defeat, the Golden Eagles honored nine sophomores for their contributions to the program. The team recognized three transfer sophomores — Ella Lopez, Emma Laurel, and Sila Yildiz — along with six returning sophomores: Addison Schreurs, Keani Domingo, Adriana Deming, Savannah Cummings, Lea Susoy, and Zoe Bauer.
On the court, Sila Yildiz and Ella Lopez led the offense with 8 kills each, while Adriana Deming added 7 kills. Defensively, Savannah Cummings recorded 9 digs, and setters Addison Schreurs and ShayLeigh Ulrich contributed 15 and 11 set assists, respectively.
The Golden Eagles will close out the regular season with road matches on Friday and Saturday against Gillette College and Casper College, respectively.
