The Laramie County Community College women's volleyball program is excited to announce the signing of Milena Gvozdeva, a 6'1" opposite hitter from Moscow, Russia, who will join the Golden Eagles for the upcoming season.
Gvozdeva brings high-level international experience and a strong competitive background to LCCC. Throughout her playing career, she has been part of elite teams that earned significant success, including a 1st-place finish in the Moscow Championship and 3rd place at the Russian Championship—two of the most competitive junior volleyball events in the region.
Gvozdeva shared her excitement about continuing her academic and athletic journey in Cheyenne:
"I'm really excited to continue my academic and volleyball career at LCCC. Throughout my playing experience, I've been fortunate to be part of strong teams that achieved great results, including 1st place in the Moscow Championship and 3rd place at the Russian Championship."
She emphasized that the environment at LCCC immediately felt like the right fit:
"I chose LCCC because it felt like the right place for me both academically and athletically. The coaching staff created a welcoming and motivating environment, and I could clearly see how the program focuses on player development and team culture. I felt confident that LCCC would challenge me while also supporting my growth as a student-athlete."
Looking ahead, Gvozdeva is eager to take the next step in her volleyball career with the Golden Eagles:
"What I'm most looking forward to as a Golden Eagle is the opportunity to compete at the collegiate level, push myself every day in practice, and contribute to the success of the team. I'm excited to be part of a new volleyball family, represent LCCC, and grow both on and off the court."
With her size, skill, and international experience, Gvozdeva is expected to make an immediate impact on the court and add depth to LCCC's offensive presence.
LCCC Volleyball is thrilled to welcome Milena to the Golden Eagle family.
