LCCC Volleyball Sweeps Western Wyoming Despite Adversity

The Laramie County Community College Golden Eagles showcased resilience and determination as they swept Western Wyoming Community College in straight sets (25-19, 25-17, 25-23) despite being short-handed due to injury and illness. With only nine players suited up, LCCC rose to the challenge and delivered a dominant performance to remain undefeated in conference play.

Sophomore middle blocker Sila Yildiz led the offensive charge, hitting an impressive .429 with 11 kills. Middle blocker Beatrice Nani followed closely with 8 kills and added a strong defensive presence at the net with 4 block assists.

Setting the tempo for the Golden Eagles was Addison Schreurs, who tallied 24 assists, 3 service aces, and contributed 2 assist blocks. In a notable lineup adjustment, freshman setter ShayLeigh Ulrich stepped into the libero role and made a significant impact with 14 digs and 1 ace.

With this win, LCCC improves to 2-0 in Region IX conference play and continues to build momentum heading into next weekend's matchups. The Golden Eagles will face Northwest College on Friday and Central Wyoming College on Saturday, both on the road.
